1469 - Ferdinand II of Aragon marries Isabella I of Castile, a marriage that paves the way to the unification of Aragon and Castile into a single country, Spain.
1579 - The Spanish ship San Felipe runs aground on the coast of Japan and its cargo is confiscated by local authorities 
1738 - England declares war on Spain (OS=Oct 30)
1868 - the peseta becomes the only official legal tender in Spain. It was to last for well over one hundred years, until it was replaced by the euro in 2002.

1973 - More than 200 people died in the flood which hit southeastern Spain, with 600 mm of rain per square metre.
1982 - A rainfall of 220.2 mm in Alicante, causing some deaths and extensive damage.
1989 - A fire in the main turbo-generator of the Vandellos I nuclear power station in Tarragona – with no radioactive contamination - led the Industry Ministry to announce its permanent closure the following year, saying the damage was too costly to repair.

2022 - The Spanish Council of Ministers has authorised the granting of aid in the field of international police cooperation to the Kingdom of Morocco, in the amount of €30 million euros, to contribute to the financing of its deployment in the fight against human trafficking and the management of migratory flows. 
The purpose of the grant is to contribute to defraying the costs of operational deployments, as well as the maintenance costs of the materials used and of the Moroccan police services in the development of the actions of collaboration with Spain in the fight against illegal traffic and trafficking in human beings destined for the Spanish coasts.
