1833 - The infant Carlos Maria Isidro de Bourbon is crowned Carlos V of Spain, the date is considered the beginning of the First Carlist War.

1934 - The Generalitat de Cataluña, led by Lluis Companys of ERC, proclaims a ‘Catalan State of the Spanish Federal Republic.’ Forty people died when the army moved in and Companys was imprisoned until February 1936.
1956 - Pueblonuevo del Guadiana was inaugurated by Francisco Franco, whose construction had begun in 1948 as a result of Badajoz Plan.
1977 - In Alicante, fascists attack a group of MCPV militants and sympathizers, and one MCPV sympathizer is killed.
